Aim training to build gaming performance
This aim trainer measures how fast and accurately you can move your cursor to a target and click. Targets appear randomly one by one in the panel, with each missed target costing you a life. Three lives lost and you're out.
How does this help gaming performance? Essentially it builds muscle memory and reaction times, which combine with your strategy and positioning to give you an edge in your next Counter-Strike or Call of Duty mission.
Targets or accuracy: what matters most?
If you're just starting out, focus on accuracy first: 10 targets at 92% accuracy will usually be better than 15 targets at 60% accuracy. Why? Because you can build speed more easily over time once your aim is solid, while precision takes practice.
What can affect your score?
- Visual focus. Rest your eyes on the center of the arena (not the edges) so new targets are never far from your focus.
- A relaxed grip. A loose hand is better than a tense one for tracking fast, jumpy targets.
- Physical state. Caffeine, fatigue, genetics, and plain age can all have an effect on reaction times. Practice can improve your score, but don't be surprised if you plateau after a while.
- Equipment matters too. Device latency and mouse input delay as well as screen refresh rate may all change the number you see, so compare scores on the same setup where possible.
