How to Use This Tool

This tool detects and shows how many times you click each button on your mouse. Use it to check for mouse double-click issues (switch bouncing), especially if you're experiencing problems like these:

  • You click once and files open twice
  • Drag-and-drop fails
  • Text gets highlighted unexpectedly
  • Games register unintended actions
  • Single-click actions become inconsistent

To get started, move the mouse cursor to the test area and start clicking on it. You'll see the total number of clicks and double clicks for each mouse button, and how many of those clicks were registered as double clicks.

If the numbers don't match your actual clicks, your mouse likely has a double-click issue.

How to Solve a Mouse Double-Click Issue (Switch Bounce)

If the tester above suggests you have a double-click issue, try these steps to troubleshoot and fix the problem.

  • Lower your operating system's double-click sensitivity settings and run the test again.
  • Try another USB port, computer, or battery (for wireless mice).
  • Clean around the mouse buttons using compressed air or a soft cloth.
  • Update or reinstall mouse drivers and mouse software.

If the issue continues, the internal switch is probably worn out and your mouse may need repair or replacement.
